My Third PLAI Congress

Image
My Third PLAI Congress Life is a continuous learning process, and as librarians, we must be at the forefront of acquiring new knowledge and embracing the latest trends and innovations. One of the best ways to achieve this is by attending seminars. It's a privilege that librarians have an annual Congress where we can gain insights from timely and relevant research to improve our library services. In 2024, the PLAI Congress was held in Davao City. When I first heard about the venue, I felt excited since it would be my first time visiting a city in Mindanao. Growing up, I always had a love for books and knowledge, but the path to becoming a librarian was filled with obstacles that tested my resolve. On particularly demanding days, the exhaustion would weigh heavily on me, and I would find myself questioning my ability to keep going. Would I ever be abl...

Taking up Bachelor of Library and Information Science. I live in the seventh gate of this university.” “Hala? Mayroon pa lang ganyang course sa school?” “Ngayon ko lang yata narinig ‘yan?” “Anong gagawin niyo diyan?” “Boring ba ang course na ‘yan?” “Ano magiging trabaho niyo kapag naka graduate?” Palagi na lang. Wala na bang iba? Magtatatlong taon na akong nagpapakilala pero ganyan at ganyan pa rin ang naririnig kong mga reaksyon nila. I’m like, hello! We exist madlang people. Akala niyo lang wala pero andito kami! Alive and kicking.
